Lyft has changed its monthly subscription plan, according to Engadget. The transport company relaunched its Pink membership, and it now costs only $10 a month and $99 a year.

Back in October 2019, they dropped the price to $20. This is a drastic change compared to their previous $299 per month for the All-Access Plan, which included 30 free rides under $15.

What's New?

Users will lose their discounts on all rides. However, they will not get priority pickups, which will save the customers $3 to $4 per trip, according to Lyft. The plan will include:

  • A free bike or scooter unlock each month

  • At least a five percent discount on Preferred, Lux, and XL rides

  • Free Sixt car rental upgrades

  • Roadside assistance for personal vehicles

  • GrubHub+ discounts

Lyft also offers an All Access subscription that will cost $199 per year. The subscription will include:

  • Unlimited 45-minute classic bike rides

  • Unlimited e-bike and scooter unlocks along with discounts

  • Three yearly bike or scooter guest passes

Users will also be able to get discounts on rides when they book priority pickups but they aren't available. Lyft expressed that regardless of the discounts, the drivers are still paid the same. Users should note that bike and scooter bonuses are only available in select places, which are US cities like Denver, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Why Did Lyft Change Its Plans?

It could be due to competition with Uber One, which also has the same subscription price and a priority service. The service provides exclusive promos and perks for both ridesharing and Uber Eats deliveries. Users will get five percent off of select trips and food orders and free delivery for many grocery and restaurant orders. There is even a promise of compensation when a courier misses their estimated arrival time.

Subscribers who opt for the priority services will get the highest-rated drivers as well as upgraded support. Lyft's new subscription plan will be an equal competitor now that they also have unique offers for the same price. It's up to the customers which perks they will choose to use from both services.

Other Lyft Services

Lyft now offers other services as well, like finding and reserving parking spaces within the app, according to PC Mag. Users will just need to go to the My Car page and tap Parking so they can reserve a spot without the trouble of looking for one themselves. The digital parking pass will be sent in the form of a QR code.

The users can park their vehicle any time once their parking time starts and will need to vacate the space before the reservation is over. Extending the duration beyond what was paid for will incur additional fees.

Lyft is teaming up with Spot Hero, which is a parking reservation service, so it covers what the reservation service does, which is more than 300 American cities. Users may check if it's available in their area by tapping the steering wheel icon in the app.
