FDA Warns of Sustaining Injury from Half a Million Recalled Heating Pads

The Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of more than 544,000 Mighty Bliss heating pads. The select released items were sold in 2021 and 2022 through Amazon and Walmart, according to Gizmodo

Some of the heating pads reportedly could cause electric shocks, skin burns, rashes, and irritation. Whele LLC, the company that distributes the heating pads, stated that they received 286 complaints from July to September 2022, which vary from overheating, sparking, burning, or presenting other electrical problems.

They also added that severe burns may result in an infection or formation of scar tissue. This has forced the company to voluntarily recall the faulty products that were distributed, and reimburse the people who received them.

You shouldn't wait for the Mighty Bliss heating pad to actually malfunction to know if it's among the items that were recalled.
