New Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet image leaks with an up-close look at its 6-inch 1080p display

Nokia's first phablet has been getting a lot of buzz lately and a new image of the 6-inch device has now leaked, showing just how massive its display will be.

Nokia has done a great job of releasing smartphones that cover every segment of the smartphone market. Its flagship Lumia 1020 caters to the high-end with its 41-megapixel PureView camera, while the entry level Lumia 520 offers consumers a solid Windows Phone 8 handset at a very affordable price. The company also offers multiple mid-range devices to even out its portfolio. There was a segment the company had not focused on, but through a series of leaks we now know Nokia is ready to throw itself into the phablet ring as well.

A new image of the Nokia Lumia 1520 has leaked  and it provides a clear and up-close look at its 6-inch 1080p display, which can hold even more Live Tiles in more sizes. The handset is running GDR3, a new version of the Windows Phone operating system. The update adds new features, including support for 1080p displays and quad-core processing. The company is expected to officially announce the Lumia 1520 at a press event it is holding in New York City on Oct. 22.

The latest reports claim the Nokia Lumia 1520 will have a 6-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution and a pixel density of 367 pixels per inch (ppi). It will become the first Windows Phone to ship with that feature and will also bring another first - a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It will be equipped with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and will also include a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 32GB microSD cards. Nokia is also including a 20-megapixel PureView rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics and optical image stabilization (OIS). The Lumia 1520 will ship with a large 3,400 mAh battery and will be offered in four colors: red, yellow, white, and black. AT&T and Verizon are expected to carry the Lumia 1520 in the near future, with a rumored Nov. 8 release on AT&T.
