Instagram Introduces a Refreshed Design for Web Version

Instagram has introduced a refreshed design for its web version as the platform continues to make changes to its desktop web app.

Compared to its previous interface that looks like a badly made copy of its mobile website, the latest update has a refreshed user interface. With this, users can take better advantage of large screens, as per TechCrunch.

What's New With the Refreshed Design of Instagram?

Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said that the new design of its web app is faster, cleaner, and easier to use, as per Engadget.

According to him, they understand that a lot of people use the web to multitask. So, they wanted to ensure that the users would have a great experience using the platform online as much as possible.

According to TechCrunch, the announcement of the redesigned interface was made through Mosseri's post on Tuesday.

With the new refreshed design for the platform's web version, Instagram takes advantage of larger screens. With this, more content will be shown horizontally.

Users will now find the menus in a new sidebar. With its new position, it would easier to access the feed, messages, search, notifications, and other features at any time.

Some options of the menus, including the search and notifications, can be found on the left side of the website. But it's not taking up the entire screen; thus, the feed remains visible.

Depending on the width of the window, users can expand or collapse the sidebar. As users browse through the feed, they will be shown suggestions on the right side of the screen.

Generally, users will like the new interface because it is modern. With it, the experience of using Instagram on the web becomes much better.

Instagram Will Not be Making an App for the iPad

While the latest refreshed design is great news for web users, iPad users won't enjoy the same feature as the company still insists that they are not making an app for the iPad.

Even if the new interface suggests that an app for iPad is highly possible, Mosseri said earlier this year that it is not their priority since there are not too many iPad users, according to 9to5Mac.

The good news is iPad users can still take advantage of the refreshed design of Instagram web since it works with Safari.

Scheduled Post Will Soon be Allowed on Instagram

Meanwhile, along with the app's refreshed design announcement, Mosseri also said that Instagram is introducing a new feature which will allow users to schedule their posts.

The app is introducing another feature. This time it's the long-awaited option of letting users schedule posts from the Instagram app.

According to 9to5Mac, once the update rolls out, users can schedule a post for up to 75 days in the future.

While the new Instagram web has already been rolled out to everyone, the company is not yet announcing when the option to schedule posts will be made available to users.

As part the Instagram's innovative venture, it will soon allow creators to mint and sell NFTs directly in the app.
