Civilization VI Players Can Get Its Upcoming Leader Pass for Free — Here’s How

Sid Meier's Civilization VI will soon have new content for players to check out for free, but there's a catch.

2K recently announced that Civilization VI: Leader Pass would add 18 new playable leader selections to the game soon for free, but only for new and current owners of the Civilization VI anthology, per Game Press.

2K Games will release Civilization VI: Leader Pass for Windows PC, Mac, and iOS sometime next week.

Civilization VI: Leader Pass Content Details

2K Games' Civilization VI: Leader Pass is a bundle containing six packs that can be purchased individually, with each adding new playable leader selections and new and improved abilities to the game.

According to Eurogamer, these packs, through their abilities, will introduce "inventive agendas" that can change how players play the game.

The "Great Negotiators Pack," the first of the six, adds US President Abraham Lincoln, Kongo Queen Nzinga Mbande, a new take on Arabian Sultan Saladin. The pack will become available for individual purchase on Nov. 21, 2022, per VG247.

Meanwhile, the "Great Commanders Pack" confirms the addition of Persian Shah Nader, a new take on Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. It will also add a new Japanese leader, which will most likely be Tokugawa Ieyasu, the winner of the Sengoku Jidai of medieval Japan.

The "Rulers of China Pack," on the other hand, adds Yongle and Wu Zetian as playable leaders while also introducing a new take on China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang the Unifier.

The "Rulers of the Sahara Pack" focuses on the nations found in Africa, with it adding Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II, Malian King Sundiata Keita, and an updated look at Ptolemaic Pharaoh Cleopatra.

Additionally, the "Great Builders Pack" focuses on the leaders that prioritized building up their kingdoms instead of conquering neighboring ones, with it adding Korean King Sejong the Great, German King Ludwig II, and updated abilities for Byzantine (or Eastern Roman) Empress Theodora I.

Last but not least is the "Ruler of England Pack," which adds English Queen Elizabeth I, Norwegian King Harald Hadrada, the king that fought the Anglo-Saxon king Harold Godwinson during the former's conquest of the British Isles, and an updated look on English Queen Victoria.

How To Get Civilization VI: Leader Pass

Civilization VI: Leader Pass is set for release on Nov. 21, 2022, alongside the "Great Negotiators Pack," on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Mac App Store, and iOS.

The contents of the pack can be bought individually, though players may have to wait for the other five at a later date.

Meanwhile, Civilization VI players that already own Civilization VI Anthology, regardless if they are new owners or not, will get all of the pack's contents for free through the same online stores.

The Civilization VI Anthology is priced at $29.77 with an 86% discount as of the writing of this article at Steam, perhaps due to the Leader Pack's impending release.

The Anthology comes with many of the game's expansion packs, such as "Rise and Fall," and"Gathering Storm," as well as the many Civilization and Scenario Packs released since the main game's release.
