Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Won’t Have New Game+ on Final DLC

Assassin's Creed Valhalla won't have New Game+ mode.

Ubisoft mentioned in its recent blog post that it wouldn't be adding the much-requested game mode because doing so limits how unique and rewarding replaying the game is.

This announcement comes alongside Ubisoft's revelation that the upcoming DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be its last, wrapping up two years of the game's post-launch support.

Ubisoft's Reason For Not Adding New Game+

Ubisoft's blog post said that it built and developed Assassin's Creed Valhalla as a unique experience, one that is alleged to be "very different" from the franchise's past entries as far as its structure is concerned.

This development focus provided players with new ways to engage with the game's world and its characters. As such, Ubisoft concluded in its investigation of implementing a New Game+ mode that the game's depth gave it limited options to make replayability unique and rewarding.

The Gamer mentioned in its article that Valhalla contains many chests scattered across the game's map that are filled with loot, including unique weapons and armor. Should the game have a New Game+ mode, it would require the team to either create a large amount of completely new gear or fill the chests with crafting materials that would provide little "stimulation value" for experienced players.

Ubisoft found neither option suitable.

Ubisoft understands that the news regarding New Game+ would upset and disappoint many Valhalla players, as the game mode is much-awaited. However, the company believes that the content of the game's last DLC will provide players with an exciting and challenging experience for players looking for replayable content.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Last Chapter Details

As for what Assassin's Creed Valhalla's DLC does have, Ubisoft mentioned that its final content update would have the game's last chapter, which provides a "touching and intimate conclusion" to Eivor's saga.

Players should expect that The Last Chapter will tie up some of the game's storylines and offer closure to Eivor's story and the player's stay among the Raven Clan.

However, for players to experience the game's epilogue, they have to first complete certain parts of the game. These requirements are as follows:

  • Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England
  • Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim
  • Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks
  • Kill all targets of the Order of the Ancients and unveil its leader

As for the players who were unable to participate in the game's seasonal festivals, Ubisoft will be making all their rewards available for purchase through the game's merchants in England in exchange for silver.

However, for them to appear, players must complete the "The First Night of Samhain (Glowecestrescire arc)" quest to do so.

Additionally, the game will soon allow players to keep Eivor's hood up at any time, even when players have taken off their cloak, allowing players to further customize their experience.
