Samsung is flying high thanks to the success of its Galaxy S4 and now the company is set to launch the smartphone in a new gold avatar.
It seems Apple's recently-launched gold iPhone 5S has inspired Samsung, as images of new color options for the Galaxy S4 have been posted by Samsung Gulf. Samsung has apparently taken a page out of Apple's book and will launch its Galaxy S4 in the popular gold option as well.
Samsung Gulf posted a new image on its Facebook page, which shows off the Galaxy S4 in Gold Brown and Gold Pink color options.
What's More, Samsung Arabia took to its Twitter account to announce the new Galaxy S4 Gold Edition.
"Introducing the new #GalaxyS4 Gold Edition - for a style that is uniquely yours!" reads the tweet from Samsung Mobile Arabia.
However, from the images it is not clear if the Galaxy S4 will actually be gold plated or simply don the golden hue.
As far as the authenticity of the Galaxy S4 launching in a new avatar is concerned, both the teasers are courtesy of official Samsung channels, which means they are the real deal. Even though Samsung is yet to reveal the launch date, pricing or availability of this mystery model, the Gold Edition of the Galaxy S4 should likely launch soon.
However, a strong possibility exists that the Gold Edition is meant for select markets and could retail only in Gulf countries.
Apart from the new color scheme, the Galaxy S4 Gold Edition is expected to tout the same specs as the original model. For the uninitiated, the Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution (441 ppi). Under the hood, the international variant of the smartphone boasts the Exynos octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The device comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and features a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary one.
Samsung is yet to announce the markets which will get the new Gold Brown and Gold Pink editions of its popular flagship smartphone. At this juncture, the pricing remains a mystery and it will be interesting to see if this variant sports the same price tag as the original model.
