Video Editing App DaVinci Resolve Comes to iPadOS – Get it From App Store

iPad users can now get the popular video editing app Da Vinci Resolve from App Store, according to MacRumors. With this, iPad customers now have access to a professional-grade video editing app.

DaVinci Resolve is designed to be optimized for iPads having Apple silicon chips. This includes the new iPad Pro with the M2 chip as well as the previous generation ‌iPad Pro‌ and iPad Air, which are both powered by M1.

Blackmagic Releases DaVinci Resolve for iPad

When Apple launched the new M2 iPad Pro in October, the Cupertino-based tech giant also teased that the popular video editing software DaVinci Resolved would also come to iPadOS, as per TechNave.

Now, Blackmagic, the creator behind the video editing app, has finally released DaVinci Resolve for the iPad, bringing desktop-level for editing videos on the device.

With this, creative professionals who are using their iPads in creating content can look forward to having the software for their use.

The editing software is popular for offering editing tools that come with advanced color correction adjustments, according to 9to5Mac.

For years now, it has been available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Now, iPad customers can take advantage of it as well.

Blackmagic announced via Twitter post that the DaVinci Resolve app can now be downloaded on iPads that are running on iPadOS 16 and above. 

In addition, the software features the same color correction and editing tools that can be found on its desktop version.

The software can be downloaded from the App Store for free. However, there are in-app purchases. You can get the full version of the app for $94.99.

Regarding the UI design, Blackmagic has adapted the software to suit the iPad's touch screen. Moreover, the developer keeps the same overall design as the desktop version.

DaVinci Resolve for iPad Offers Support for Multi-user Collaboration

Using the software on iPad, users can create new projects. Similarly, they can also import existing ones from DaVinci Resolve 18. 

Moreover, the iPad version of the software has support for multi-user collaboration via Blackmagic Cloud.

When it comes to available features, the iPad version of DaVinci Resolve provides virtually the same tools that users can find in the desktop version. 

Among these are Cut Page, Source Tape, Fast Review, Sync Bin, and more. Users would also find options to adjust the contrast, temperature, mid-tones, and saturation of videos. In addition, there are 3D trackers and HDR support.

Users would appreciate that the app works with H.264, H.265, ProRes, and Blackmagic RAW codecs. Moreover, they can import clips from iCloud, local storage, as well as an external USB-C drive. 

Blackmagic stated that the iPad version of the software has also been optimized to work with Apple Pencil as well as multi-touch trackpads. This includes the one which was integrated into Apple's Magic Keyboard.

Blackmagic recommends using DaVinci Resolve on iPad models with an M1 chip or greater. The developer also said that some features of the app such as external display support and ProRes also need the M1 chip or later.
