Forgetting where your travel mug is will soon be a problem of the past.
Southern California-based tech firm Ember revealed its new travel mug during CES 2023 that not only keeps your drink at the temperature you want but it also lets you know where it is through Apple's Find My functionality.
The new mug will soon be available for purchase sometime later in 2023, though what will happen to its predecessor is still up for debate, per Tech Crunch.
Ember Travel Mug 2+ Details
Ember's Travel Mug 2 that features the same functionalities as the upcoming Travel Mug 2+, only without Apple's Find My functionality.
Ember's upcoming travel mug, the Travel Mug 2+, is an updated version of its Travel Mug 2 offering currently in stores today. Much like its predecessor, the Travel Mug 2+ has a touch display allowing users to dictate how warm or hot they want their 12-ounce drink to be, per Ember's official website.
To be specific, the Travel Mug 2+ can keep users' drinks as warm as 120 degrees Fahrenheit or as hot as 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Changing the temperature can be done with this touch display or with the Ember companion app, which is available on iOS and Android devices.
In addition to the touch display, the travel mug has a built-in battery that can last up to three hours depending on its use. Naturally, placing it on its charging coaster will make its battery life last all day.
Interestingly, in the pursuit to save battery life, Ember added an Auto Sleep feature to the travel mug that senses when it will turn on and off.

However, the newest feature on the block is Ember's addition of Apple's Find My functionality on the travel mug. According to Engadget, the cup will show inside Apple's Find My app thanks to updated firmware.
Specifically, the Travel Cup 2+ will show in the Find My app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, while it can be located through the Find Items app on Apple Watch.
Much like other lost AirPods, the travel cup will also play a sound through its new built-in speaker, making it easier for users or someone else to find it.
Aside from the technological features, Ember's Travel Mug 2+ comes with a 360-degree leakproof push-to-open lid, preventing users' coffee from leaking and spilling while it sloshes around during travel.
The lid is also a convenient tool to sip the coffee with from any side; cleaning it is also easy thanks to it being engineered to be so.
Travel Mug 2+ Price And Availability
Ember's Travel Mug 2+ is expected to be made available for purchase sometime during the second quarter of 2023 for $199.95 - the same price as its predecessor.
Ember mentioned it would eventually replace its Tavel Mug 2 offering with the Travel Mug 2+, but it is unclear if the company will continue to sell the former at a reduced price in the foreseeable future once the latter mug is already hitting store shelves.
