The blockchain gaming industry is undergoing explosive growth. It is projected to grow from $4.6 Billion in 2022 to $65.7 Billion in 2027 at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 70.3% during the forecast period mainly driven by the rising funding for blockchain games. Among multiple driving factors, perhaps the NFT-based games have contributed the most to this growth, drawing a large chunk of gamers among the 1.5 million attracted so far.

Riot Racers: An NFT-based Car Racing Game

Riot Racers is one of the latest games in the market and combines blockchain gaming and car racing. Simply put, Riot Racers elevates the car race gaming experience by incorporating several aspects of the NFT technology into the gameplay. Moreover, it enables players to own the in-game items in the literal sense. The Riot Racers NFT assets include cars, drivers, racetrack land, gas stations, billboard land, and mechanic shops, all of which can be traded on the OpenSea marketplace.

RIOT is a fungible ERC-20 token, acting as the native currency of the platform. Players can buy it from Uniswap and QuickSwap. There are multiple uses for this virtual currency. The in-game advantages of holding it are diverse. Players use it to enter races, upgrade vehicles, earn rewards, etc. On top of that, the platform will soon launch RIOT staking, allowing holders to earn extra rewards for holding it.

Riot Racers: A Beginner's Guide

To dive into this immersive experience, the process of participating in a race is quick and a matter of just a few clicks to begin. First, you need to get your RIOT token ready for participation fees. Next, you will have to select the race. The options depend on the class of your car. It will vary according to the number of Experience Points the vehicle has. The Rookie Class of cars scores the lowest on the XP point scale, while the Legendary Class score much higher. Other classes between these two include Rally, Driver, Tracker, Aero, and Pro.

Once you are done selecting a race, the next step is to review the race condition. It includes several parameters, such as weather conditions, tracks, pit, etc., each affecting the race atmosphere. Then we can select our driver who specializes in unique weather conditions, and our vehicle to best strategize for victory. Once finalized, you can enter the race by paying the entry fee. The results will be displayed once the race completes. Riot Racers also allow you to watch 3D replays of all the races you have participated in to see how the strategy you selected played.

Apart from the classic race mode, players can also join Riot Racers Cup and major events. You also have the option to create custom tournaments where you can control the number of participants, number of heats, tournament status (public/private), and more.

Winning Prizes

The winner rewards are given from the prize pool, which is the aggregate of gas fees for the race. The race winner receives as high as 50% of the prize pool, while the runner-up and third-place racers get 30% and 20%, respectively.

The distribution of the earnings benefits not only the winners but stakeholders as well. Mechanic shop owners earn a part of the car upgrades, whilst racetrack land owners and gas stations profit from race entry fees. This further enriches the gameplay, making Riot Racers much more than a typical car racing game.

Moreover, the game offers exclusive prizes for Racers Cup and other major events which heats things up throughout the season making the gaming experience more intense and fun.

You Can Learn as You Play!

Unlike most blockchain-based P2E games, Riot Racers accommodates new players by providing them free opportunities to learn the gameplay and skills before they start paying to enter matches. The platform offers options for entering racing school options, where you don't have to pay any fee to participate. Paid races only come in Competition Races. It is the real competitive race and the only one that counts. Players can be asked for different amounts of RIOT tokens or USDC as entry fees. These races vary as the competition races count towards your win percentage.

Since the racing strategy is responsible for 51% of the race outcome, it's a good idea for beginners to practice and master their skills. You can try and test different strategies in the racing school and analyze the gathered race data to improve the results. Real-time data and performance are showcased on the screen, including strategy selections and driver and race results.

Car upgrades and driver attributes also play a critical role in determining the winner. About one-fifth or 20% of the race outcome can potentially depend on the driver's traits. It includes all the features that apply to real-life race driving, such as braking capabilities, endurance, vision, handling, speed, etc.

The game strategy is determined by multiple factors, like racing postures, racing line determination, tire strategy, acceleration strategy, engine strategy, braking technique, etc. Changing one or two of these options can create an entirely new racing strategy. For example, one can shift from universal braking to bulk braking.

To put it all together, the races offer a highly-rich and engaging experience where you have a wide scope to use your expertise as well as learn at the same time to excel. The platform brings the best of the two worlds together: racing and blockchain-based operations.
