Google Nexus 5 high-end specs with low price and Nexus 4 2013 LTE on the way

A new report claims that Google is not only planning to announce its latest flagship Nexus, the Nexus 5, but will also announce a Nexus 4 with 4G LTE.

Google is expected to officially announce Android 4.4 KitKat and its next-generation Nexus 5 smartphone. We have seen the handset leak over the last couple of weeks and know what to expect when Google officially announces it. The Nexus 5 is expected to feature a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 442 pixels per inch (ppi). It is expected to be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM and be the first device to launch with Android 4.4 KitKat.

The handset will include an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The smartphone's wireless capabilities are expected to include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and GPS. The Nexus 5 will be offered in 16GB and 32GB of internal storage and use a 2,300mAh battery.

A new report claims the Nexus 5 will sell for $399 and $449, respectively.  Google appears to be taking a page out of Apple's current smartphone playbook by keeping around last year's model with a twist. Apple basically uses last year's iPhone 5 inside of a new polycarbonate shell with the new iPhone 5c. Google will reportedly announce an updated Nexus 4 with 4G LTE enabled and more internal storage.

The previous-generation Nexus 4 shipped with a 4G LTE chip and users figured out a way to unofficially enable the feature. When Google released Android 4.2.2, however, the feature was disabled. There have also been rumors of a Nexus 4 2013 that some believed was going to be the final name of the Nexus 5, but it fits in perfectly with the Nexus 4 relaunch. The smartphone is said to have similar specs but a bump in storage and continue the usual Nexus pricing of $299 (16GB) and $349 (32GB).

Google is expected to announce Android 4.4 KitKat, the Nexus 5, and possibly an updated Nexus 4 2013 in the coming days. Stay tuned.
