5 Video Game Soundtracks To Help Increase Your Productivity

Music can help inspire anyone to do anything. It can help people relax, sleep, and even meditate.

Listening to music while studying or working isn't anything new, but listening to video game soundtracks is, and they are no different from the lo-fi study music people are listening to help them focus.

Here are some of the tracks that could help you focus on your studies/work.

Unravel

Puzzle games have soundtracks that help you be immersed in the game they're in and help you focus - a quality also present in Unravel's soundtrack.

For those unaware, Unravel is a puzzle platformer game that has players control Yarny, its main character, which represents the ties that hold loved ones together. Players must use the yarn that makes up Yarny to get from one part of the screen to another to reconnect the "long-lost memories of a family," per the game's Steam store page.

Examples of the game's soundtrack that are ideal for increasing productivity include "Rusted Apart" and "The Red Thread."

Journey

Casual games may not have anything interesting for the average gamer, but those who wish to just relax through a video game after a long day's work could look forward to Journey.

The game came from indie developer Thatgamecompany, wherein the character walks and glides through the desert while the game's story is told through the environment around them. The game's music is relaxing and oddly enough, it allows you to focus on whatever you're doing since it cuts out the background noise many modern games have.

Examples of the game's beautiful soundtrack that can help increase productivity include "Second Confluence" and "Temptations."

Assassin's Creed II

Renaissance Italy is more than a period of discovery and learning and with Assassin's Creed II's soundtrack featuring the feel of being in the center of that part of history, you can't help but feel learned yourself.

Assassin's Creed II takes place in Italy during the height of the Renaissance period when Europe experienced a time of cultural, artistic, scientific, political, and economic "rebirth" following the Middle Ages and the ravages of the Bubonic Plague. The game's soundtrack reflects this theme and more while also putting a sinister feel whenever Templars are on-screen.

Notable tracks from the game include "Dreams of Venice" and "Leonardo's Inventions."

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

If the first two entries to our list tell you anything, it's that calming music can help you relax and focus at the same time. As such, it's no surprise that Animal Crossing appears on this list.

The game simulates village life with a focus on socializing, exploring, collecting items, and decorating your home. What's special about the game's soundtrack is that it comes with unique music for each hour of the day and event during the year, making its full soundtrack last over seven hours.

The tracks that inspire an increase in productivity include "Bunny Day" and "Dedication Ceremony."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may sound dark and dreary most of the time, as befitting of its setting wherein humanity has to co-exist with monsters normally found in fairy tale books and monsters found in the hearts of men every day. However, there are still parts of its soundtrack that are great for productivity.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the last game in CD Projekt Red's Witcher series, featuring the epic conclusion of the journeys of Geralt of Rivia.

The game's soundtrack has a folksy twist to it, but it has battle tunes that are upbeat enough to help increase productivity and help you access your "Witcher senses" to get the job done faster.

Notable tracks include "For Honor! For Toussaint!" and "You're... Immortal?"
