Futuri Launches RadioGPT, an AI-Driven Radio Station

Radio is one of the services where people discover music and other content besides music streaming services. Now artificial intelligence technology has reached radio as well, with the release of Futuro's RadioGPT, with an AI serving as its radio jock.

RadioGPT

Futuri's AI-driven radio station is the first of its kind. It uses the power of GPT-3 technology with both Futuri's targeted story discovery and social content system, as well as AI voice tech for the familiar localized radio experience.

Using TopicPulse, RadioGPt scans Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and over 250,000 other sources for news, information, and which topic are currently trending locally. It also uses GPT-3 technology to generate a script for an AI voice to deliver on-air audio.

There are also options for stations to choose from regarding AI voices for single, duo, or trio-hosted shows, as mentioned in Futuri Media. They can even train the AI with the already existing personalities' voices in the station.

It is capable of creating social posts, blogs, and content for other platforms related to the content that is aired in real-time. Futuri CEO Daniel Anstandig says that as early AI innovators in broadcast, it's natural to bring the power of GPT-3 technology.

Using a TopicPulse Instant Video add-on, AI-driven short videos can be created containing trending topics. Futuri's POST, a podcasting system enabled by AI, can also be used by stations to take broadcast audio and publish it using the auto-publishing feature.

RadioGPT makes it possible to never have a "liner card" or "sweeper-only" air shift again, and broadcasters can localize on-air content in a "turnkey fashion" which Futuri claims will open uo resources to deepen relevant home-field advantages in new ways.

Futuri also partnered with Alpha Media in the United States and Rogers Sports & Media in Canada, as mentioned in Interesting Engineering.  Alpha Media Executive Vice President of Content Phil Becker expressed that they always seek innovative ways to engage their audience.

AI and Its Other Uses

AI is becoming more and more prominent in technology-related operations. Seeing as technology is used in almost everything, artificial intelligence already has a wide area of application, to begin with.

Although some aren't as obvious, a lot of people are already encountering AI at least once a day. For instance, online retailers use AI to recommend items that you might want to buy. It's based on a customer's search history, purchase history, and more.

A lot of online shopping sites use chatbots as well to assist customers with their inquiries. Even if it isn't as advanced as ChatGPT, the responses are still AI-generated. Since some inquiries are simple enough and standard responses ought to do the trick.

It is also being used when you call on a virtual assistant to do something for you like turn on the lights or play some music. Even something as simple as sorting your email into certain categories like Spam uses AI technology.
