Samsung Will Release Bespoke Art Designs for Refrigerator Panels

Samsung is appealing to its creative side as it collaborates with TOILETPAPER for limited edition designs. You might think that it'll be for smartphone wallpapers, but no. The electronics giant will be offering "unique and disruptive" art for Samsung refrigerator panels.

Bespoke Refrigerator Panels

Samsung is working with TOILETPAPER, a creative studio founded by artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari, to create one-of-a-kind designs to turn plain and boring refrigerator panels into pieces of "limited edition" art.

The company's aim is to go beyond the basic white appliance design and use art as a form of personal self-expression through customization. The Bespoke design will add character to the fridge, with TOILETPAPER providing "unconventional, avant-garde art styles."

There are four Bespoke panel designs that the electronics company will introduce soon, with titles like "Dessert Lady," "Lipsticks," "Magic Mirror," and "Roses with Eyes." Each design will only be available for certain refrigerator models.

For example, "Lipsticks" and "Roses with Eyes" can be seen on Bespoke Bottom Mounted Freezer models, while "Magic Mirror" and "Dessert Lady" will be available for one-door and four-door refrigerator models.

Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing Team of Digital Appliances Business, Ik Soo Choi expressed that Samsung is excited to introduce its latest custom designs to Bespoke products, ensuring that users have new ways to express themselves.

"Working with Samsung on the new limited-edition Bespoke TOILETPAPER designs was an amazing opportunity for us to challenge ourselves with in new mediums," says TOILETPAPER co-founder Maurizio Cattelan.

Samsung announced that the limited-edition TOILETPAPER refrigerator panel designs will be available by the first half of 2023. Like appreciated art all over the world, collaborative projects will be displayed for public viewing.

Anyone can view the four Bespoke refrigerator panel designs at the Samsung booth at Art Point Superstudio Più Via Tortona, Milano, between 11 AM to 9 PM, on April 18th to 22nd, and again on April 23rd between 11 AM to 6 PM.

Samsung's C-Lab

The company has not fallen short when it comes to innovation and creativity. It even has a program that encourages employees to come forward with their ideas called "C-Lab" or Creative Lab, which was created back in 2012.

It's an in-house idea incubation program that supports the development of ideas. When an employee comes forward with a brilliant idea, Samsung would not only consult and let them independently manage it, but provide funds as well.

It has over a thousand participants and hundreds of incubated projects. Projects with great market potential will be given the opportunity to launch start-ups. Samsung also supports spin-off companies by providing seed money investments and consultations.

C-Lab spin-offs will also be given the chance to be listed as a vendor on Samsung's online shopping mall for employees and the Korean-Language website, re-employment at Samsung if they take time off to focus on the project and assist in business stabilization.

As for its startup accelerator C-Lab Outside, it can provide support in the form of business grants worth up to 100 million KRW, office spaces, mentoring programs, business presentations in tech events, and collaboration opportunities.
