Verizon's 5-inch 1080p Nokia Lumia 929 images and specs leak

New images and details regarding the unannounced Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 have leaked. The 5-inch smartphone will include a 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon processor and more.

Nokia recently announced its first Windows Phone phablet, the Lumia 1520, which brings a 6-inch 1080p display and quad-core processing to the Lumia line. The finnish company has already confirmed that is has partnered with AT&T to be the exclusive U.S. carrier of the Lumia 1520. If you're a Verizon customer, Nokia has a 5-inch smartphone with similar specs that is currently in carrier testing and will reportedly launch sometime between Thanksgiving and the beginning of next year.

Windows Phone Central has posted images and details about the Verizon Nokia Lumia 929, which will likely replace Verizon's current flagship Lumia 928. The Nokia Lumia 929 features a similar design compared to the Lumia 928, but with upgraded internals and a larger 5-inch 1080p display.

The upcoming Lumia smartphone for Verizon features a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD 1080p AMOLED display and is running the latest version of Windows Phone Update 3, complete with the Lumia Black firmware installed. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, has 2GB of RAM and includes 32GB of internal storage.

Its camera capabilities include a 20-megapixel PureView camera with oversampling (16MP + 5MP photos), dual LED flash and a front-facing camera for video chat. In terms of wireless connectivity you'll find a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/c/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and GPS. The handset will also ship with FM radio support, Qi wireless charging out of the box and will be available in glossy white or matte black. Its dimensions are 136.55mm x 71.4mm x 10.5mm and weighs 166g.

Nokia has certainly been stepping up its game with its latest Lumia smartphones and just recently became the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the U.S. Since Microsoft's Windows Phone Update 3 adds support for displays between 5 to 7 inches and quad-core processing, Nokia's Lumia smartphones will now be on a more even playing field with its Android rivals and should further add to its increasing market share.

The Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 is expected to make its official debut as early as Thanksgiving or in the beginning of 2014, but it seems very likely that Verizon will want to ship this in time for the all-important holiday shopping season. We'll keep you updated on the Verizon Lumia 929 as soon as more details become available.
