It's Almost Here

It was finally revealed that the game is set to be released on October 12th. In less than five months, you can purchase the game and play as Basim Ibn Ishaq. Assassin's Creed Mirage takes place in the city of Baghdad in 861 CE.

The year signifies that the game is set before the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, 20 years to be exact, as mentioned in Engadget. If you're fond of the older Assassin's Creed games because of their gameplay mechanics, then you would appreciate the upcoming game.

Based on the trailer, Basim Ibn's stealth and combat style is very similar to that of Altair and Ezio, down to the hidden blade and the hood. Players will be engaging in quests in stealth and parkour as well, just as it did in its roots.

It also takes in some of the elements in the more recent games. Just like Kassandra and Eivor's winged companions, Basim Ibn can also use his eagle to scout certain areas to spot if there are threats or dangers ahead.

According to the website, the city will also be more reactive to interactions. The setting is described as a "dense and vibrant city," so players who have a special appreciation for game scenery and graphics will be glad to experience that.

Like other Assassin's Creed games, it will also feature historical figures that were significant during the time period the game takes place. Considering the place where the game is based, it will feature figures that "shaped the Golden Age of Baghdad.

You can also unlock a bonus quest from the game if you choose to play the game on the first day of its release. The mission is titled "The Forty Thieves." You can pre-order now so you can get the game as soon as it's released.

The game will be available in the following:

  • Xbox Series X

  • Xbox Series S

  • Xbox One

  • PlayStation 4

  • PlayStation 5

  • EPIC

  • Amazon Luna

  • PC

Why The Game Is a Big Deal

The franchise has been getting a lot of heat because it has strayed too far from its original gameplay mechanics. Although, Assassin's Creed Origins is pretty similar to the old games with Bayek's outfit and hidden blade, as well as the parkour-style movement.

As for Odyssey and Valhalla, they are far from the older games as people claimed. Granted, Odyssey is canonically the first game in chronological events, and the Assassins Brotherhood did not even exist then. The DLC did show the origin of the hidden blade.

Valhalla has also gotten so much hate, and not just because there's no justification whatsoever about why it has not been the typical stealth and parkour game, but also because people claim that it was underwhelming for an Assassin's Creed game. But, to each their own.
