Capcom, GoodSmile Reveals RE4 Remake Leon Nendoroid

A mini version of Resident Evil 4 Remake's Leon will soon be up for sale.

The GoodSmile Company recently posted an announcement that Nendoroids of RE4R protagonist Leon S. Kennedy is in production after more than two months since its release.

The company didn't mention anything about a release date or a price.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Leon S. Kennedy Nendoroid Details

The GoodSmile Company's US branch posted an announcement on its official Twitter account that it collaborated with Capcom to produce a Nendoroid of Leon S. Kennedy as he appears in the game developer's latest entry into the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The post came with a picture that shows a "chibi"-fied version of LEon in his new bomber jacket and posing with his SG-09 pistol - the handgun Leon starts with during the game's initial events.

The picture could very well be the basis of RE4R Leon's Nendoroid, meaning that the resulting figures could look very well like the picture featured in the announcement. Whether GoodSmile would launch a Leon Nendoroid without his signature bomber jacket (Leon's default look in the game's later events) is still up for debate.

Unfortunately, GoodSmile's announcement didn't come with a launch date, specific, or an estimation of how much it would cost once it's out in the market.

Regardless, having a Nendoroid version of Leon (or just its confirmation of production) is great news for Resident Evil 4 Remake fans. Both critics and gamers praised Capcom for the Resident Evil 4 Remake's features, mechanics, and overall gameplay.

According to review aggregator website Metacritic, overall critic reviews show that they enjoyed the game, with Metacritic giving it a Metascore of 93. Gamers also said the same about the game; around 3,000 gamers gave the game a Metacritic user score of 8.0.

While Leon's Nendoroid is confirmed to be in production, GoodCompany has yet to announce the production of other notable characters from the game, such as Ashley Graham, Ada Wong, Luis Sera, and Jack Krauser. Despite that, there is hope that these characters will have Nendoroids of their own in the future, given that Leon's is already in production.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Details

RE4R was hinted to be in development as part of a Capcom leak in late 2020 when a data breach discovered references to the game among other future Capcom projects.

It then became the topic of rumors, with it being the subject of a "partial reboot" within Capcom due to internal disagreements over its direction. Despite that, Capcom confirmed that it was developing the game in June 2022 during Sony's State of Play with a nostalgic reveal trailer.

The game is more of a "reimagining" than a remake of the original 2005 game for a more "modern" audience, but it remained mostly faithful to the original game.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is available for the PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
