Tekken 8’s Latest Character Reveal Was Posted by Accident

Someone was not following orders at Bandai Namco.

The popular game developer's Europe branch recently released a reveal trailer for Tekken 8's Bryan Fury, but someone allegedly didn't follow instructions, which resulted in the release becoming accidental.

Bandai Namco is releasing Tekken 8 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in later 2023 or 2024, per The Loadout.

Tekken 8 Bryan Fury Accidental Reveal Details

Tekken 8 players worldwide have been eagerly waiting for the next character Bandai Namco would reveal for its hit action fighting game. However, one company employee may have been a bit too excited to share the news.

Bandai Namco Europe released the reveal trailer for Tekken 8's Bryan Fury on Twitter and YouTube on May 28, showing gamers what to look forward to with the character once it's released. However, there's only one problem regarding the trailer's release: it was never supposed to go out on Twitter that early.

According to Video Games Chronicle, Bryan Fury's reveal trailer was to be "officially" released during the ongoing Combo Breaker fighting game tournament, wherein the Tekken segment of which would be streamed by the official Bandai Namco Esports YouTube channel.

While Bandai Namco Europe soon realized its mistake and promptly pulled the trailer from the internet, it was up long enough for other YouTube channels and users to start sharing it online.

The incident drew the "ire" of game director Katsuhiro Harada, who said this in a now-deleted tweet: "What the f**k Bandai Namco Euro. That's why I warned you years ago not to post on a timer. Well, I'm going home now, thanks! Ha ha ha."

Tekken 8 producer Michael Murray also gave an apology on Twitter about the accidental leak, saying that he feels bad for all of the people who saw Bryan Fury's reveal trailer not in the way he and Harada planned.

Regardless, Bandai Namco eventually released Bryan Fury's reveal trailer in an official capacity on May 29, much to gamers' amusement on what happened.

What happened to the unfortunate employee who scheduled the reveal trailer's release a bit too early is still unknown.

Tekken 8 Bryan Fury Gameplay Details

Regardless of the incident gamers are impressed what what they saw in Bryan Fury's reveal trailer. Gamers quickly noticed that he's much faster and more brutal in Tekken 8 than in previous games and no less psychotic, for that matter.

His signature taunt move is still available in the game - a mainstay in his moveset since his release as a new character in Tekken 3. Fury also has a move that allows him to immediately deal damage to his opponent when they hit him for a considerable amount of damage and an explosive finish.

His win animation is nothing to scoff at either - it really shows how deranged and psychotic Bryan Fury really is, what with him shooting off a Gatling gun and throwing it towards the camera.
