AT&T has cut the price of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet from $199.99 to $99.99 when ordered through the carrier's online store.
The phablet world is about to get two new members with the arrival of the HTC One max on Sprint and the Nokia Lumia 1520 on AT&T. Sprint began shipping the HTC One max on Nov. 15 and AT&T's Lumia 1520 is set to launch on Nov.22. In a strange move, AT&T has cut $100 off the pre-order price of the Lumia 1520.
If you were considering an AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520, its new $99.99 price tag is surely going to tempt you even further. The Lumia 1520 is the first Windows Phone phablet and it brings some impressive features, including a 6-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display, a powerful quad-core processor, and a high-end 20-megapixel PureView camera, all at a price of some mid-range smartphones.
AT&T has not announced if this new pricing is permanent or if it will be offered in stores, but the pre-order page shows the $100 savings as an online discount and the carrier still has a message letting customers know that the Lumia 1520 will ship out on Nov. 19, with delivery on Nov. 22.
The AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 features a 6-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD 1080P ClearBlack display that is also readable in the sunlight and can be used with gloves. The smartphone uses a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM to provide a fluid user experience. The Lumia 1520 includes 16GB of internal storage and users will be able to get up to 32GB of additional memory via the device's microSD card slot.
The handset's camera capabilities include a high-end 20-megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss Optics (the same technology found on the Lumia 1020), optical image stabilization (OIS), as well as enhanced settings and imaging features. It also comes with Microsoft Office, Nokia Music, Camera, and more built-in. The Lumia 1520 supports wireless charging with the purchase of a wireless charging shell and Nokia has packed in a large non-removable 3,400 mAh battery.
You can now pre-order the AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 from AT&T's online store for $99.99 when signing a new 2-year contract. The carrier will ship out the phablet on Nov. 19 and will deliver it on Nov. 22.
