Disney Partners With LEGO To Release New 4,837-Piece Castle

Disney and LEGO are teaming up to release the biggest, boldest Disney castle yet.

LEGO and Disney recently announced a partnership to develop and release a brand new LEGO castle featuring references to more than 14 classic Disney films sometime in early July.

The two companies previously collaborated in the past to release a castle modeled after Cinderella's castle in 2016, though this one has smaller and has fewer pieces than the new one LEGO is releasing next month.

LEGO and Disney have recently partnered up once to develop and release an all-new Disney castle made up of 4,837 pieces to build - 800 more pieces to the LEGO version of Cinderella's Castle the former company released in 2016, per Gizmodo

The Disney Castle in question, the LEGO ǀ Disney: Disney Castle (43222) set, is an updated version of Cinderella's castle commonly found in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The set, which consists of 4,837 pieces, is meant for play and display for a good reason. It showcases different rooms, classic Disney references, and nostalgic details within the set's rooms.

The set is merely a facade of Cinderella's castle and not a full 360-degree replica, much like its 2016 counterpart, per 9to5Toys, allowing kids to roleplay as they wish, per LEGO

The references featured in the set are from 14 classic Disney films over the last century, such as "Steamboat Willie," "Snow White" (the first Disney Princess), "The Princess and the Frog," and "Moana."

Interestingly, the set also comes with eight minifigures that represent some of the Disney Princess characters and their male partners: Cinderella and Prince Charming, Snow White and Prince Florian, Princess Tiana, and Prince Naveen, and Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder (or Eugene Fitzherbert).

LEGO customers wishing to buy this set should expect a challenging but rewarding build, as it measures over 31.5 in. high, 23 in. wide, and 13 in. deep. However, customers can explore the world within the castle as they build it, making an enjoyable experience. These include the castle's spinning dance floor in the grand ballroom and a rotating "enchanted" fireplace that reveals the spinning wheel from "Sleeping Beauty."

It also includes a special time capsule commemorating 100 years of Disney movies.

LEGO Disney Castle Availability, Price

LEGO mentioned in its store that its 4,837-piece Disney Castle has a $399.99 price tag and that it will be available for purchase on July 4. People who wish to buy it earlier can do so by becoming a LEGO VIP member - they can buy the set on July 1, three days earlier than the rest of the world.

The set comes with illustrated instructions, digital and physical, to help customers build the set.

The Brick Fan also mentioned that LEGO customers that purchased select LEGO Disney sets would also receive the LEGO Disney 100 Years Celebration set for free, which features a podium, a movie screen, a projector that lights up, a desk, and a Mickey Mouse Minifigure.
