Google Calendar Updates New Feature for Enhanced Productivity

Google has officially launched the improved working location feature which enables workers within the organization to distinguish the user's availability.

This includes in-person collaboration, location planning, meeting, room management, preparing meetings, and more. 

For the new update, Google introduced the working location setting in Calendar to indicate the user's location while working. 

Google took importance on the rise of hybrid work environment since the pandemic, making the update a particularly helpful tool for workers who manage the calendars of others.

Google Calendar Feature Availability 

Google has reportedly scheduled the release of domains on July 14, while the feature is now available for rapid release domains. 

Moreover, the update will be available through Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, Education Plus, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Nonprofits.

How to Setup Google Calendar Update

Users let others know their availability by turning on the working hours from a computer. Adding working hours should have a start and end time. 

If the user will out of office, the employee should indicate the first date of being out of the office. Time can also be specified for more detailed information. 

With the new update, users are now able to edit their working locations for the entire day or for specific portions of the day. 

The feature will be enabled by default. However, do note that administrators will have the power to enable and disable the feature within the organization.
