Twitter Will Soon Have Job Listings on Verified Organization Profiles

Twitter has been making positive changes as of late, which is a nice change of pace considering its run since Elon Musk took over. One of its upcoming new features will allow verified organizations to post job openings for other users to apply to.

Job Listings on Twitter

The company itself hasn't announced the new feature yet, although Twitter appears to already have launched the feature to select users. So far, only verified organizations are capable of posting job listings on their profiles.

Workweek CEO Adam Ryan posted a photo on Twitter that shows the job listings placed below the account's main profile information which shows the number of followers. As mentioned in Tech Crunch, Ryan says it's part of the Verified for Organizations package, which cost $1,000 a month.

The platform refers to the new feature as "Twitter Hiring," which is a way for organizations to attract applicants through Twitter. However, verified organization accounts may only add up to five job listings in their profiles.

Nima Owji, an app researcher, stated that verified organizations can import their job listings to Twitter by connecting a supported ATS or XML feed, which will be convenient for applicants since they have a direct link to the application itself.

There have been instances when organization accounts have posted job positions through tweets, which also works. But, aside from pinning the tweet, it will soon be buried into the profile once new posts are published, which will make them harder to find.

When a user suggested a Twitter dating app, Musk responded saying it was an interesting idea, and that maybe the platform can add jobs too. It aligns with the fact that Twitter purchased a job-centric tech startup called Laskie, according to reports.

If anything, this can be a way for Twitter to enter the job search platform market. Not only will it create another use for Twitter, but it also fits in with Musk's vision of making Twitter an "everything app" when he purchased it.

Musks's Plans for the 'Everything App'

With everything that has been happening to Twitter along with all the new alternative apps popping up, it's understandable that people already forgot about the tech billionaire's plans to make Twitter an "everything app."

Musk wanted to create a "town square" for various activities. Other than that, he also planned to change Twitter's name entirely and call it X. The idea came to him as he saw certain apps that can offer many multiple services including payments, and how it hasn't been done in the US.

The Tesla CEO cited WeChat as an example, which is a hugely popular messaging app in China, as mentioned in Vox. He mentioned that there's no WeChat movement outside of China and that there's a real opportunity in that.

The company, of course, has a long way to go, especially since it is far off from where it started when Musk acquired Twitter. Since then, it has dropped in value drastically, which is the far opposite of Musk's aim to make it a $250 billion company.
