HoYoverse Launches Web Event for Genshin Impact’s Lyney

HoYoverse is giving Genshin Impact players a chance to earn more primogems.

The game developer recently launched a web event for Genshin Impact's new playable character, Lyney, giving players a chance to earn resources and primogems for them to use.

Lyney will soon be available in Genshin Impact when the game receives its 4.0 update.

A Taste Of What's To Come

HoYoverse's web event for Genshin Impact's Lyney works like the ones the company released in the past; it has its own twist, though.

Players with adventure rank 10 or above can participate in and play the event. They must follow the event's prompts and use Props from the Prop Kit to interact with items in the scene.

Finding all three missing items will net in-game rewards for players to redeem in-game, including the event wallpaper players can download after completing the event. Additionally, players who complete specified missions can obtain extra Props to help them discover Lyney's missing items.

Completing the event grants players a small number of primogems, Agnidus Agate fragments, mora, and weapon ascension crystals. The event can be completed in a matter of minutes, meaning that these resources are virtually given to players participating in the event for free.

However, players must redeem them before 30 days, as they will expire once the 30-day timer is up.

The web event is open to eligible players from Aug. 11 to Aug. 16 - the day when Genshin Impact gets its 4.0 update. Players can't access the web event during Version Update Maintenance.

What To Expect In Genshin Impact 4.0

Genshin Impact players can expect many changes to the game once its 4.0 is live. Apart from the new region, Fontaine, the update gives the Traveller the ability to swim and dive underwater without relying on oxygen, per Games Press

Thanks to a blessing they'll receive, players will rely on Aquatic Stamina to swim and dive whenever they go underwater. Underwater combat is also possible using different techniques. These techniques can even absorb the abilities of special aquatic creatures to defend themselves, spring traps, and obtain treasures hidden among Fontaine's seaweed.

Apart from Lyney, his siblings, Lynette and Freminet will also be playable in-game, per Sportskeeda. Other notable Fontaine-based characters, like Clorinde, Charlotte, and Navia, are also appearing during the Archon quest coming with Fontaine's release.

Genshin Impact players may remember Charlotte from the Summoners' Summit event in v3.7. While Charlotte isn't confirmed to be playable, rumors suggest she will be at a later date, much like Dehya was when she appeared during the Sumeru Archon quest.

The update also comes with QoL improvements for players, especially for those playing on PlayStation consoles. HoYoverse added Global Illumination in certain areas of Teyvat; it allows objects, especially their colors, to be affected by multiple indirect lights from surrounding objects.

Other improvements include the multi-layered map and the new Party Setup backgrounds and animations a la Honkai: Star Rail, which is intended to provide players with practical and interesting details in their adventures.
