Xbox Enforcement Strike System

In an Xbox Wire announcement, CVP for player services Dave McCarthy, stated that each players can receive up to eight strikes. The strikes will remain on the player's record for six months. Every time a player receives a strike, the player will get suspended from Xbox's social features for various period of time.

Each players can now review their enforcement history. This includes the number of strikes and how it will affect the player's gameplay overall.  While all player are set to begin with zero strikes, Xbox explained that previous enforcement must still be completed.

Xbox is keen to enforcement transparency letting players reflect and have clarity on their bad behavior. The repeated enforcements are surely to impact one's gameplay as it can ban the players from accessing features within the console.

McCarthy also clarified that a filed report against a player would not automatically reflect an enforcement strike, rather, the Xbox Safety Team will review and evaluate the report first. Players who will accumulate eight strikes will be suspended from Xbox's social features for one year based on the enforcement date.

However, in terms of serious violations, Xbox can still permanently suspend the overall function of an account including access to purchases. The company asserted that they will continue to step forward on improving and protecting their players by evolving such enforcements.
