Your circle is about to get bigger as BeReal replaced its discovery feed with friends of friends feed, allowing you to see the posts from your friends' friends.

BeReal Friends of Friends Feed
The discovery feed of BeReal previously allowed you to preview posts from random people that opted to make their posts public. With the new friends of friends feed, users are now able to see what your friends' friends have been up to, as long as they choose to post it in that setting. BeReal now allows users to choose between sharing with friends or with friends of friends, making your post more exposed to other people's feed.
In an email response to Gizmodo, BeReal spokesperson revealed that the new feature's goal is to help users discover their friends on BeReal. The company also cited the difficulty of finding your IRL friends in the app, which makes the friends of friends more handy to use.
On the other hand, BeReal allows you to remove and block an individual if you do not want to be seen or be seen by someone in the app. BeReal also added more customization tools such as pinned posts and mentions.
BeReal's Social Impact
The Gen Z app managed to crawl its way to the generation's attention by providing a minimalist approach in posting update. BeReal make use of the front and back cameras of the phone which only allows users to upload an unfiltered snap once a day. Most Gen Zs found a joy in sharing BeReal as it takes away the sense of clout chasing which is a rampant trend on other social media apps.
BeReal currently have around 20 million daily active users and has been rolling out other features such as Bonus BeReal, RealChat, and Spotify integration.
