iPhone 14, iPhone 15 Lineup Gets Roadside Assistance

During the iPhone 15 launch event, Apple announced that the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 series will have  two years of Emergency SOS and Road Assistance access for free. These services are under the AAA membership terms or the pay-per-use basis for non-members of the AAA.

Last year, the Emergency SOS was introduced alongside the iPhone 14 series. This year, Apple and AAA is expanding the feature along with the iPhone 15 series launch.

With these features you can text AAA for assistance during car emergencies. This includes being locked out, running out of fuel, or getting a flat tire. The service works via satellite using the Apple's Emergency Text so you can send a message even if you have no cellular signal or Wi-Fi coverage.

Road Safety Matters for AAA and Apple

iPhone 14 and 15 users will be connected to the service after answering a couple of questions. This will give the service an important details on the situation. The users will be given clear set of  instructions on how to stay connected to the satellite so that they can send the message to the AAA and get the status of their request.

"Safety is at the core of who AAA is as an organization, and we're taking that commitment to the next level by offering AAA services to iPhone users who would have previously been unreachable," said Marshall Doney, president and CEO of AAA.

AAA reminded that the users must be located near a road to receive the service and AAA does not provide off-road vehicle recovery. The service will be available starting September 22 on the United States and Puerto Rico.
