Evasi0n iOS 7 Jailbreak released including support for iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display

If you've been wondering when a jailbreak for iOS 7 would show up, the time is now. Evasi0n has released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 and latest iPhones and iPads.

When Apple released the original iPhone in June 2007 it delivered a smartphone that didn't allow the installation of apps like its rivals, which at the time included Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry. As revolutionary as the iPhone was, there were features that Apple left out and it was the one that changed the mobile world, as we know it.

Consumers were happy to pay AT&T $600.00 and sign a new 2-year contract to own Apple's reinvention of the smartphone. iPhone users soon wanted to use applications that other smartphones were capable of running at the time. Apple took the stance that it wanted to deliver a whole new experience and wanted to maintain total control of the OS. A few weeks after the iPhone was on sale, a group of developers released the very first jailbreak for the smartphone.

The tedious process added features Apple left out and also added the ability to download and run the first non-Apple applications. The installation required users to go through 74 steps, including command line prompts and wirelessly connecting to the iPhone through SSH. We have come a long way since then and jailbreaking an iOS device is now as simple as downloading an application, running it, and in under 10 minutes you've got yourself a jailbroken iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

A jailbreak for iOS 7 took developers about four months from the launch of the new OS. The evasi0n team has released evasi0n 7, which will jailbreak devices running iOS 7, including the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display. Here's a rundown of all of the supported devices.

  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5
  •  iPhone 5S
  • iPhone 5C
  • iPod touch 5G
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad fourth generation
  • iPad mini
  • iPad mini with Retina Display
  • iPad Air

The new evasi0n 7 is now available for download for both Windows and Mac and it's the simplest way yet to Jailbreak an iOS device.
