Tinder Select Offers Users Exclusive Features for $499 a Month

More dating apps have been emerging ever since online dating was made possible, and through those years, Tinder remains one of the top sites or apps that people use. As a way of being unique among others, the app is offering a high-end subscription plan that gives users a bit of an edge.

Exclusive Plan, Unrivaled Access

Tinder is releasing an invite-only subscription as part of its premium plan, which gives those who are willing to pay $499 monthly an advantage over other profiles in the dating app. The company says that only less than 1% will be offered the option.

In order to be considered for Tinder Select, the user must be among the "extremely active." Tinder Chief Product Officer Mark Van Ryswyk acknowledges that there is a "subset of highly engaged and active users who prioritize more effective and efficient ways to find connections."

As a response, the company engaged in extensive tests and feedback with the audience over the last few months to develop the plan, as mentioned in The Verge. Of course, the select users will have to go through a series of requirements first before they are approved.

The membership requires the applicant to meet the 5-Point Select Screen to ensure profile quality, which means users will need to have five interests, four photos, a bio with at least 15 characters, indicate a relationship goal, and their photo verified.

If the applicant doesn't have the requirements in line while in the process of being considered, Tinder will ask them to update their profile. The company will then check if it goes against the Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.

Once the application has been approved, Tinder will send an email containing a unique unlock code. Users can unlock Tinder Select through the same email, or go to the app and enter the unlock code that was sent.

What Are the Perks?

The plan wouldn't be enticing if it didn't have features worth paying $499 for. For example, Tinder Select members will be able to send a message to someone they haven't matched with, which they can do up to two times a week. Although it can only be sent through the Likes Sent tab.

Users will also be more visible to the people they have liked as their profile will be unblurred in the "Likes You" grid. This takes effect even if the account they liked doesn't have a Gold or Platinum subscription. The Tinder Select member's profile will be prioritized for seven days.

Speaking of being more visible, Select mode opens them up to the platform's "most sought after" profiles so they can enjoy "more exceptional connections. It goes both ways as they will be seen by the mentioned profiles as well.

If the user wants to show off their membership, they can display the exclusive Select badge on their profile, but they can also choose to hide the badge through the Settings. On top of that, Select members will be the first to test new features released by Tinder.
