WordPress Introduces ActivityPub Plugin for Bloggers

ActivityPub will be used as a plugin that functions as a seamless integration between the blogs and a group of federated platforms. The federated platforms, which are often referred to as fediverse, are networks that provide communication for their users across various services. This includes Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, and more.

With the new plugin, bloggers are expected to reach more readers and gain more followers as it helps readers discover you across platforms. Moreover, post replies will be automatically turned into comments on your WordPress blog which creates a more dynamic conversation about your post.

"Take advantage of this new opportunity to extend your blog's reach, connect with diverse audiences, and create engaging dialogues," WordPress reminded to its users.

Turn Simple WordPress Blog to Fediverse Profile

Since ActivityPub allows bloggers to join the fediverse, WordPress made the easy steps that will introduce WordPress users to the world of fediverse. For Free, Personal, and Premium sites, users can enter the fediverse by enabling it on the discussion settings. Meanwhile, Business and Commerce sites must install the ActivityPub plugin and follow the prompts to create their profile.
