The new update is set to move the Movie and TV Shows tab in the iTunes Store to the Apple TV app as part of the improvements added to the TV app.

Based on the code from the 17.2 second beta, Apple will introduce an easier navigation feature to the TV app allowing users to easily switch across different tabs. This includes the Search, Watch Now, Channels, Store, and Library sections.

Current version of the Apple TV lets users buy or rent movies via the dedicated TV app or through the iTunes movies and shows sections.

The phase out is part of Apple's move to put an end to the iTunes brand after its software was removed from the Mac in 2019.

The changes to the app will be updated remotely.
