Verizon to exclusively carry Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Samsung and Verizon have announced that the carrier will exclusively offer the Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Apple set a new trend in the smartphone world when it introduced its iPhone 5s in a gold color option. The gold iPhone 5s proved to be the most popular with consumers and was in short supply shortly after the smartphone made its debut. Soon HTC announced a gold HTC One to capitalize on the new trend and Samsung quickly followed by unveiling gold-accented Galaxy Note 3 phablets. Samsung and Verizon Wireless have now announced that the carrier will exclusively sell the Rose Gold Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung issued a press release and Verizon announced the news via Twitter. The Rose Gold Galaxy Note 3 will arrive just in time for Valentine's Day, with Verizon saying that the phablet will be available online and in-store before the end of January. The Rose Gold Galaxy Note 3 is essentially the standard white Note 3 with golden accents on its outer ridge, home button, camera, and S Pen.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch (ppi) and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (Android 4.4 KitKat is currently in testing) with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 3GB of RAM to provide a snappy user experience.

Its camera capabilities include a 13-megapixel illuminated rear camera with "smart stabilization" and a 2-megapixel front facing shooter, with both cameras able to record 1080p HD video. It includes 32GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and an IR blaster to turn the Note 3 into a universal remote control that also features a dedicated program guide. Samsung has packed in a large 3,200 mAh removable battery that will provide up to 24 hours of usage and 21 days of standby time.

The Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available from Verizon before the end of January and will retail for $299.99 when signing a new 2-year contract.
