The Sims 4 Won't Debut on Nintendo Switch

Earlier this week, user TheHenfordHen spotted that EA's own website had included Nintendo Switch among other platforms for The Sims 4. Fans were quickly enthusiastic about the rumor, especially Switch users.

However, The Sims Direct team quickly shut down the rumors by addressing the mistake in an X post. "We've updated this information as this seems to be an error in the search data," the team clarified.

Moreover, the team detailed that the game is not available and there are currently no plans for a Nintendo Switch release. Meanwhile, some fans had accepted the news citing that the game is too heavy for a console like Switch due to the DLCs.

The Sims 4 Dilemma

Compared to other games, The Sims 4 is a fairly heavy game. The base game does not actually pose a problem, however, avid players of the game are known for purchasing expansion packs which tend to get heavy depending on the quality.

The Sims 4 is currently available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, some players have been complaining that running the game on PS4 and Xbox One can be a struggle especially on loading time, compared to the PC versions.

Regardless, Nintendo might be preparing an improved version of the Switch that could potentially run the game's DLCs smoothly. For now, the Switch dream for The Sims 4 remains closed.
