Stardew Valley Update 1.6 Hints Minor Upgrade to Pet Movement

Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, shared that the upcoming update will reduce the time for pets to move from the space they are occupying.

Previously, fans have been requesting to adjust the time for the pets's movement since they usually block the player's way.

Stardew Valley Updates Pets Movement

Cats and dogs in the game are notorious for slowing down players. Usually, players are required to walk into them for 1.5 seconds before they would start shaking. Although this may seem fast, it could be annoying for some players.

In an X post, Barone shared that the upcoming update will reduce the amount of time players will spend pushing against a pet before they start shaking. From 1.5 seconds the waiting time will now be 0.75 seconds.

Fans were quick to praise Barone's update citing that a minor tweak could make a difference in the gaming experience.

Stardew Valley Expects New Pet Feature

The Update 1.6 will also include a new update that will allow players to add hats for their pets. For a while, fans have been welcoming to the idea of adding headgear for their pet companions.

Although pet interactions are still fairly limited in the game, any changes to improve their feature are welcomed quickly by the fandom. Meanwhile, the upcoming patch will also include new endgame quests for the Joja storyline, more seasonal outfits, and an expansion of the game's skill system.

There were also hints of updates for modders that are used to facilitate the process of creating custom content in the game. The Stardew Valley update 1.6 is slated to be released on March 19 and will initially be available on PC only.
