Meta Ray-Ban Glasses Offer Instagram Support

In a blog post, Meta shared that smart glasses users can now directly share a post to Instagram. Users can prompt the system before or after taking a picture.

They can easily command the smart glass by saying "Hey Meta, share my last photo to Instagram" or they can say, "Hey Meta, post a photo to Instagram." This will serve as an authorization from the user to allow Meta to publish the photo online.

The update will roll out gradually starting today. Meta revealed that the new updates will give users new hands-free functionality with their smart glasses.

Meta also revealed its partnership with Calm, a meditation app, to promote self-care to users. A simple prompt of "Hey Meta, play the Daily Calm," will signal the smart glass to create a moment of peace and bring guided meditation without directly accessing the app.

In addition, new Calm users are eligible for a complimentary three-month subscription to the app. A series of on-screen prompts in the Meta View will help new users navigate their meditation journey.

Amazon Music has also partnered with Meta to bring its library of music and podcasts to Ray-Ban smart glasses. Users can now stream using the app on their glasses without taking out their phones.

With just "Hey Meta, play Amazon Music," the smart glasses will start playing a recommended playlist. The audio playback can be adjusted using touch or voice control, encouraging a hands-free streaming experience.
