Nothing CEO, Carl Pei, teased some details about the company's next-generation smartphone that will focus on supporting AI further AI advancement.
The CEO shared that the company has been designing and prototyping AI interactions for the last two months, hinting at the possible features for Phone (3).
Nothing to Focus on AI With Phone (3) Arrival
In an X post, Pei discussed the impact of AI and how it is affecting Nothing's advancement. The CEO emphasized that smartphones will be the largest consumer of AI, especially within the foreseeable future.
During a short demo, the Nothing team showed a couple of features that are in early development for the Phone (3). For instance, a personalized voice assistant will be embedded in the OS.
In addition, a new home screen focused on personalization and dynamics will debut for the next smartphones. According to Pei, their idea of AI phones is to redefine the usage of smartphones.
"The next era needs a highly personalized, dynamic, and cross-device interface. One that also creates a human connection that makes tech feel more at ease to interact with," Pei added.
Nothing Phone (3) Release Date, Expectations
The Phone (3) has been under speculation for a couple of months already. However, Pei's announcement briefly stated that it could be introduced next year.
Some of the initial AI concepts and features shown at the demo will still undergo improvement and will gradually debut on the next-generation Nothing phone. The company also revealed that they are focused on developing UX and thoughtful integration.
Recently, the phone maker partnered with OpenAI and brought ChatGPT integration to the recent Ear headphones. This move marked the company's first step toward AI integration.
"See this as us throwing our hat into the consumer AI race!" the CEO wrote.
