Samsung pre-IFA 2014 press event set for Sept. 3, Galaxy Note 4 expected

Samsung has officially started sending out invites to a pre-IFA 2014 press event on Sept. 3, where it is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the company's next-generation flagship phablet and one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year. It was no big secret that the new Galaxy phablet will most likely debut in September, but now more evidence bolsters the claim of a Sept. 3 unveiling at a Samsung press event ahead of the big IFA 2014 trade show.

According to SamMobile, Samsung has already started to send out invitations to its next Unpacked event scheduled for Sept. 3, just two days before IFA kicks off. The company will apparently start its event at 2pm in Berlin, where it is widely expected to take the wraps off the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, as well as other devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to launch as a real Android powerhouse, boasting top-of-the-line specs and features that will allow it to compete against Apple's upcoming iPhone 6. Some rumors suggested that the phablet may even get a metal treatment this time, but others claim that the metal design is reserved for the upcoming Galaxy Alpha smartphone.

While nothing is official so far regarding the Galaxy Note 3 successor, some leaks and reports have tried to paint a picture of what to expect. Based on rumors so far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will come in two variants, one with an Exynos 5433 processor and the other with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, and at least 3GB of RAM (if not 4GB). The Galaxy Note 4 may also launch as the first internationally available Samsung device to boast a QHD display, as the Galaxy S5 LTE-A debuted only in Korea. Other also rumors claimed that the Note 4's S Pen stylus will boast utrasound technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 should also come with a fingerprint reader, the very latest version of Android out of the box, and high-end specs and features all around. It's all in the rumor state for now, but the phablet will most likely be the star of the show at Samsung's upcoming Sept. 3 event. More information should surface closer to launch and we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more.
