Samsung Galaxy Note Edge UK launch delayed again, set to ship on Dec. 17

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge seems to be facing delays in the UK once more, as the launch date has been pushed back yet again.

Back in early September, Samsung took the wraps off its new-generation Galaxy Note 4 flagship phablet, as well as a curved-display variant called the Galaxy Note Edge. The device sports a curved display from side to side and was expected to see a limited release much like the Galaxy Round last year, but the company later announced that its new Galaxy Note Edge would hit several select markets across the world.

The UK is one of these select markets set to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, but the device has seen a couple of delays already in the country. Originally expected to debut on Nov. 28, the Galaxy Note Edge UK launch was then pushed back to Dec. 12, just in time for Christmas. The launch date has now been pushed back another week, but the device should still arrive in time for the holidays.

Samsung's UK site now lists the Galaxy Note Edge as ready to ship from Dec. 17, which means that interested customers who have already pre-ordered the device or plan on doing so in the near future should receive it on Dec. 18.

Carphone Warehouse has also been taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, but it still lists the expected shipping date as Dec. 12. It's a bit odd that Samsung lists the shipping date as Dec. 17 for its own device while a retailer expects units one week earlier, but there's a chance that Carphone Warehouse didn't get the chance to update its product page. At the same time, the retailer could indeed start shipping the device earlier than Samsung's own store.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge comes with top-notch specs and features all around, including a 5.6-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and LED flash, and a 3.7-megapixel front shooter. A 3,000 mAh battery keeps things up and running, while Android 4.4.4 KitKat runs the software side. Being part of the Note family, the device also comes with the popular S Pen stylus and all of the associated features and functionality.
