Samsung Galaxy E7 may not be exclusive to India after all

Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 smartphones earlier this month with availability for India only, but that may well change soon.

Upon unveiling the two new Galaxy E series handsets in India, Samsung made no mention of when or if the smartphones will reach other international markets. A new report, however, bow claims that the Galaxy E7 may in fact be set to debut in China in the coming months.

"It looks like the Galaxy E7 is making its way to the People's Republic of China. This goes to show that the Galaxy E7 isn't a smartphone that's exclusive to India," reveals a new SamMobile report.

The publication is basing this claim on the fact that the Samsung Galaxy E7 received certification from TENAA, the regulatory authority that's China's equivalent to the FCC in the U.S. TENAA has certified the Galaxy E7 for use on China Mobile's 4G network.

While such certification does not count as confirmation for the launch, it is a big indicator for a handset's imminent debut in the market. Just like the FCC in the U.S. is usually the last stop before a device hits the market, certification from China's TENAA suggests the Galaxy E7 may soon make its commercial debut in the country.

As SamMobile pointed out, this would mean that at least the Galaxy E7 may not be exclusive to India after all. In turn, this could indicate wider availability in other global markets as well, although it's not confirmed at this point.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy E7 sports a 5.5-inch display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specifications include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, and 5-megapixel front shooter "for a superior selfie experience," as Samsung touted when annoucing the device. On the software side, the handset comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Samsung's TouchWiz UI on board out of the box.

It remains unconfirmed at this point whether the Samsung Galaxy E7 will indeed launch in China and perhaps other markets across the globe, so take this report with a grain of salt for now. We'll keep you up to date as soon as Samsung offers some official information in this regards.
