LG's 4K OLED TV Costs As Much As A Car In India

LG's 55-inch and 65-inch 4K OLED TV has arrived in India. The device is LG's first OLED TV to hit the country, and it is far from cheap. The new television models have first been introduced by the company in January. Korean company LG has invested a lot in the OLED technology and has finally  brought the new non-curve TV to the market.

The 55-inch model costs Rs 3,84,900, while the 65-inch model costs Rs 5,79,900. According to Hindustan Times, which released an article on the gadget upon its release, the LG 4K OLED TV has a sharper color display, and it also has more contrast. The 33 million color sub-pixels that the television set displays is a huge upgrade from regular HDTV's 6 million subpixels.

The display is just as thin as a regular smartphone, at 5.9 mm, so that's definitely another plus for the high definition and multimillion-colored television set. The TV includes 3D glasses and is powered by WebOS. This equips the device with apps and other features. Apart from those features, the LG 4K OLED TV also comes with a remote control that takes voice commands, allowing users to channel surf by just speaking to the remote.

Because it offers Wi-fi, as well as Intel Widi, MHL and Miracast, the high-tech and high definition TV also enables users to play videos directly from mobile devices to the TV. The LG 4K OLED TV is going to be on sale in hardware retailers in India over the next few weeks, and customers may already place orders for the new device.

LG has reportedly spent over $8.5 billion dollars to develop the OLED technology, which the company incorporated to its TV screens. Over the next few years, LG will not only be bringing OLED to television units. The Korean company will also be bringing it to cars and wearable devices. The 4K OLED TV has originally been expected to launch in the Berlin-held IFA event in Sept., where many other devices are making their debut. LG has also just released a new tablet on Monday, Aug 24.
