eBay Launches Updated Mobile App For Android And iOS

Wednesday, Sept.9- e-commerce company eBay has rolled out the updated version of its mobile app for Android and iOS devices. The new version of the eBay app is known as the Ebay 4.0, and this is a significant update for its users as the online retailer has a formidable presence in the mobile community. The new update for the online auctioneer makes it simpler and easier to use.

According to a Financial Express report, the new app provides a simpler user interface for its members. The app has more images of available wares now, making eBay look more like a store that's easy to browse in. This is unlike the previous versions of the eBay app. Aside from the more browsable UI, the app already categorizes the interface into three divisions: Activity, Shop and Sell.

Located below the app's search box, the three categories will enable users to keep track of products, prices and events that may interest them. eBay's new layout is more focused on browsing rather than search, which has taken front and center in previous versions of the app. The new look has been met by positive feedback over the internet, with online tech writer Viraj Shah of Invest Correctly commending the look as "better, cleaner and brighter than eBay has ever been".

eBay has developed different apps for buying and selling items, and these apps have been downloaded for more than 270 million times. Sixty percent of eBay users access the site via mobile. The company has provided different user experiences for its mobile apps before, but with the roll out of Ebay 4.0, Android and iOS users will share a universal user experience, which makes exchanges easier and more organized.

The new eBay app is also able to provide its regular sellers a dashboard to keep track of their wares and updates about purchases and events. The eBay 4.0 app also indicates and surfaces the user's last activity once it is opened on the device. The app customizes itself to the user's activity patterns. The eBay 4.0 app for Android and iOS is now available for download.
