Microsoft Teams Up With Dell And HP To Sell Surface Pro

A day before the big Apple event which unveils the popular tech company's latest devices, Microsoft is off to show that there is a solid market for its tablet device, the Surface Pro. The Redmond-based software giant has enlisted hardware makers Dell, Hewlett Packard and Avanade Accenture to resell the tablets which are made for business.

The three companies will be providing supplementary apps to the tablets each of them will be selling. The partnership between each of the companies, particularly Dell and Microsoft serves the purpose of making the device more accessible to enterprise users, which it caters to. According to a Yahoo News report, the software giant may enlist more partners to sell the tablets soon.

Dell, Hewlett Packard and Avanade Accenture are the first members of the Surface Enterprise Initiative, which focuses on having enterprise users adopt Windows 10. Analyst Steve Kleynhans said of the partnership, "The roll out of PC manufacturer is changing and pure manufacturing market is going away." Kleynhans also called the move an indication that is "reflective of a key change in the industry." Kleynhans was quoted by Uncover California.

Dell will begin selling the Surface Pro models in October. The roll out will happen early next month, to customers in Canada and the U.S. Apart from the Surface Pro, Dell will also be selling accessories of the device such as pens, covers and docking stations. Other tablet models developed by Dell will also be sold alongside Surface Pro. This includes the Latitude and Venue Pro tablets.

The Surface Pro will be made available to 28 markets around the world early next year. There are the countries wherein the Surface Pro is currently being sold. Dell will also be offering customers services from the hardware company itself. For its part, HP has not announced when it will be rolling out the Surface Pro.
