Telstra Launches First 600Mbps-Capable CAT11 Device

In a bid to outdo itself, Australian telecommunications and media company Telstra has just launched its first 600 Mbps-capable Category 11 mobile device a month after it unleashed the its Category 9 devices. Internet quality in Australia is somewhat difficult to come by, but Telstra's push for blistering fast internet will make it easier for residents to acquire.

Meet the Telstra WiFi 4GX Advanced III Mobile Broadband Hotspot -- the company's latest blazing-fast mobile broadband hotspot to join their range of products that use a technology called 3 band Carrier Aggregation designed to deliver significantly higher peak download speeds and capacity in the network for users.

Through this, customers will now be able to enjoy faster download speeds, streaming without the wait, instantaneous application response times to deliver a better surfing experience. But not only that, Telstra's network evolution that supports Category 11 devices are also designed to deliver a boost to the capacity of the network.

"This is the world's first commercially available Cat 11 experience and is a breakthrough addition to our mobile device range thanks to our ongoing partnerships with these leaders in innovation," said Telstra Mobile Executive Director John Chambers.

The Telstra WiFi 4GX Advanced III Mobile Broadband Hotspot is developed in collaboration with several tech companies including NETGEAR's AirCard, Ericsson's Carrier Aggregation technology, and a modem that's powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon.

The new device is capable of supporting up to 15 WiFi-enabled devices at the same time. Plus, users will also be able to share their network within a group even while they are on the move. The device will automatically switch to 4GX, 4G and 3G depending on the availability of the signal. It also comes with a longlasting battery so users won't have to fuss about losing connections midway.

The device will be available starting on Sept 29 and will retail for 264AUD. However, the device will result to more data consumption due to its blazing-fast internet speed, with an allocated 4GB data being consumed in less than a minute.
