YU Says Its Yutopia Is The Most Powerful In The World

For a company to say that they have 'the most powerful' device in the world would mean that they have something to back it up. And before, no one was bold enough to promise such a claim. However, YU, a subsidiary of Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax, considers highly of its latest smartphone and tags it as such.

Codenamed 'Project Achilles' internally, YU's Yutopia is considered by its manufacturer to be 'the most powerful smartphone ever.' "The brief was to manufacture the world's most powerful smartphone in India," said one of the sources working on the project to BGR India.

There are no specifications or features officially announced as of yet by YU. However, there have been Geekbench listing of two new smartphones of the company - the Yu5050 and the Yu4711. The former of which could be Yutopia, and results suggest that the smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 810 chipset (MSM8994, ARM Qualcomm @ 1.55 GHz 1 processor, 8 cores) and 4 GB of memory. There are also rumors that say that there will be a 3 GB variant with 16 GB of storage.

The Yutopia's screen real estate is expected to be about 5.2 inches, with QHD or Full HD resolutions coming along. As for the camera, the primary shooter is expected be a 21 MP snapper, with the selfie camera going for 8 MP.

According to the reports, the Yutopia is set to be the real flagship killer, which leads to speculations that it will be in direct competition with the OnePlus 2. "This would be a no-compromise smartphone, with the best specifications and the highest benchmark rating," said the source.

Micromax's CEO, Rahul Sharma took it to Twitter and called the Yutopia a real beast. "After the minion monster #YUNIQUE can't wait to present the #Real Beast. Let the countdown begin," the tweet reads.
