Verizon's Droid Turbo 2 Rumored To Have Shatterproof Screen, Will Feature Moto Maker

Motorola and Verizon's Droid Turbo was a complete showstopper when it first launched last year. It featured one of the best chipsets from Qualcomm, an epic battery life, a gorgeous form factor, and a pair of performer cameras, making it one of the best smartphones to come out in its time. Now that Verizon is in need of a new powerhouse smartphone to please the high-end crowd, Big Red has once again taken it to Motorola to do the trick with the Droid Turbo 2.

According to reports, both upcoming carrier-specific Motorola smartphones for Verizon, namely the Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid Maxx 2, have been detailed in a recently leaked pamphlet. As advertised, the Droid Turbo 2 will feature a "shatterproof" screen. Verizon will offer $300 back to anyone who trades in their smartphone, even if it has its screen cracked, when they buy the new Droid Turbo 2. Furthermore, Big Red has also added a customization method for the Droid Turbo 2 with Moto Maker. Those who will buy a 64GB Droid Turbo 2 will apparently be able to have one design refresh as a bonus. Finally, this marks as a fresh change for smartphone options that relatively come in black, white, or red as Moto Maker will give way to further customizations with different materials and colours.

Aside from the Droid Turbo 2, the pamphlet also featured the Droid Maxx 2, which is basically a Moto X Play for the United States. Reportedly, the smartphone will have enough juice for it to run for about 48 hours. It will also feature removable shells in three different colours - red, green, and black, and will come at US$19.99 a piece. Similar to the promotion with the Droid Turbo 2, Verizon will give you up to US$300 when you trade in your old phone for a Droid Maxx 2. However, it won't likely have a "shatterproof" screen, so it's expected the smartphone to be traded in must be in good working condition.
