Xbox One's Nov. 12 Update Will Bring Backwards Compatibility And New UI

Microsoft's latest gaming console has managed to set itself apart from the competition in plenty of ways. As of late, the company has been pushing its unified Windows 10 experience that it managed to get integrated with the Xbox One. And the beauty of backwards compatibility have won the hearts of Xbox One gamers looking for last generation nostalgia. That is what the latest update, pegged for a Nov. 12 release, is set to bring.

The latest major update will bring a redesigned system UI, giving Microsoft's Xbox One a much fresher face and a much more engaging dashboard. The new interface, called the Xbox One Experience, features new changes and quicker access while keeping the same functionality of the existing dashboard. There's also a more social Community section to boot.

The much awaited Xbox 360 backwards compatibility has been the talk of the gaming community since its announcement. However, some would probably be disappointed as the new feature of the Xbox One won't bring the entire library of Xbox 360 straight to Microsoft's latest console.

Although AAA titles including the Gears of War franchise, Mass Effect, Viva Pinata, Bajo Kazooie, Alien Hominid, Perfect Dark and Perfect Dark Zero, and so much more are among the list. According to reports, the list will grow to hundreds by the time the new feature rolls out in its full version this fall. The said feature was first made available this year for Xbox One's preview program members, and games have been slowly being added to the list accordingly.

The competition in the gaming console has been quite spectacular this year, with exclusive titles for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 coming. While Microsoft is busy bringing backwards compatibility, it appears that Sony is also working on PlayStation 1/PlayStation 2 backwards compatibility as well.
