Apple Launches iOS 9.2 Beta 2 With AT&T's NumberSync

A couple of days ago, Apple had opened the beta of iOS 9.2 to be available for those who enlisted for the software beta testing program. Soon after, the company opens another round of the experimental iteration for the up and coming version of Apple's latest mobile operating system.

The pre-release software has been pushed out to several developers of the platform alongside new version of Apple's OSX, Xcode and tvOS. The second round of the beta testing program will primarily allow users and developers to check out and take advantage of AT&T's NumberSync offering, giving other Apple devices such as a Mac or iPad to make and receive calls using a subscriber's iPhone number even without being connected to the phone itself.

AT&T's NumberSync service is more of an improvement to Apple's Continuity feature, whereas Continuity allows anyone to use their Apple devices for making calls as long as they are connected to the iPhone in the same Wi-Fi network, AT&T will only require the subscriber's phone number for making the call.

Furthermore, the new beta adds improvements to the Safari View Controller, allowing users to dismiss it with only a swipe. Several bug fixes have also been implemented to solve issues regarding the iCloud Keychain and Apple Watch.

Those who are part of Apple's software beta testing program will see the update notification soon, if they have not yet received it. Otherwise, the new public beta is available from the Software Update section of the Settings app on devices that currently run on the existing build. Those who want to have a knack at it but still aren't part of Apple's beta testing program, they can sign up easily with their Apple ID accounts easily in Apple's official website for the program.
