The Honda Acura NSX Is The Supercar Of The Future, Goes From 0 to 60 in 3 Seconds

The Honda Acura NSX has finally come off the assembly line in Ohio and car enthusiasts are ecstatic to see the upcoming vehicle. The supercar is meant to increase the sales of Honda and has been in the making for four years. A true American car, which Honda built and developed in their Marysville plant, it is designed to rival the Audi R8 and McLaren 570S.

According to USA Today, auto dealer and NASCAR racing team owner, Rick Hendrick, predicts that the Acura NSX will be a huge hit. He himself bought one for a whopping $1.2 million and has said that the car was "a halo piece... one of the finest automobiles I have ever seen in my life."

Indeed, the Honda Acura NSX is a sight to behold and runs fast with hardly any need for momentum. According to the WSJ, the vehicle can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds flat, which means that a quarter-mile would be possible under 12 seconds. The Acura NSX has a maximum speed of 191 mph, which is very formidable for its class. The vehicle has a gas-electric hybrid driveline, which is based on a new twin-turbo V6, three electric motors.

The vehicle has four drive modes, including Track. The computers in the car are constantly as work. Even in Track mode there is a margin of understeer dialed into the algorithms. The Honda Acura NSX will eventually increase its output for more track-focused versions as well.

The drive is virtually silent thanks to acoustic tubes directing engine sounds into the cabin and exhaust valves that take in quad exhaust outlets. The Acura NSX also features a Quiet Mode, in which the car will only use its electric motors, making the drive as quiet as possible.

As opposed to the typical single motor between the front wheels, Honda engineers opted for a Twin Motor Unit, which acts independently from side to side. This allows the unit to quickly react to turns and continue down a straight road.

Interested buyers, who started making their orders in February, will be able to take their units home soon, as the plant is already building the production version of the vehicle.
