The birth of Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface, widely known as Siri, has contributed a lot in the massive financial growth of Apple. However, even as iPhone 4S sales grew, the quality of Siri did not meet the expectations of the consumers, resulting in numerous complaints, which reports claimed has become an embarrassment to the company's image.
Although Apple made an impressive advertising strategy featuring Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson and sought-after actress/singer Zooey Deschanel, many consumers were dismayed with the software's performance after buying it as it failed to live up to the quality showcased in the advertisements. Moreover, MarketWatch contributor Jon Friedman said that Siri failed to fulfil its positive features which can be seen from the commercial as a consumer-friendly mobile application.
Search results also declared the alarming growth of Siri complaints, which already reached up to 1.2 million featuring different types of issues that the company is facing in the world of business enterprise. According to reports, IBM recently declined to utilize Siri for security purposes and subjective proofs also noted the inability of the software to meet quality performance in Japanese which was supported after the launch of iOS 5.1.
"People are embarrassed by Siri," Adam Lashinsky, senior editor at Fortune, quoted a "former insider" as saying. "Steve [Jobs] would have lost his mind over Siri."
