2016 MTV Video Music Awards News: Adele, Beyonce & Kanye Top Music Artists This Years; Taylor Swift Gets Snubbed

Nominees for the MTV Video Music Awards have just been announced recently. Most of the famous artists this year have topped the list; however Taylor Swift was left out of the nominations.

Among the famous artists whose music videos have been nominated are Adele ("Hello"), Beyoncé ("Formation"), Drake ("Hotline Bling"), Justin Bieber ("Sorry") and Kanye West ("Famous"). Along with the other artists, Adele, Beyonce and Kanye are the ones who had the most nominations for all categories.

Beyoncé got eleven VMA nominations this year. Many of her songs have been considered for a variety of categories. Taylor was most likely at a similar place during the 2015 VMA nominations.

It has been noticeable to the fans how Taylor Swift's name was not in any of the lists of nominees. As it can be recalled, Taylor had ten nominations at last year's VMA for her "Bad Blood" music video and won five of those nominations, according to Vanity Fair.

Taylor has gotten awards from the VMAs for six years now and it has come as a surprise that she is not even nominated at all this year. Some reports say that this may have been caused by her recent issue with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris and her rift with Kanye West with his infamous music video "Famous."

US Magazine reported that some people speculated that she may have been snubbed from this year's nominations because she already took home so many awards back in 2015. Taylor has already released three music videos in the past year, all from her latest album "1989."

One of Taylor Swift's latest music videos, "Wildest Dreams" made its debut during the 2015 VMA preshow. However, the network didn't really recognize it. Same goes for her music video of "Out of the Woods" that premiered during the "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve."
