Third MacOS Sierra Public Beta Released By Apple

Apple has released on Tuesday, August 2, the third public beta of its newest operating system designed for the Mac and called the macOS Sierra.

According to the specialized online publication MacRumors,  the macOS Sierra beta 3 update comes just a day after the launch of the forth developer beta and two weeks after the release of the second public beta. The forth developer beta and the third public beta offer the same features, including a redesigned look for most of the existing emoji and more diverse new emoji.

The macOS Sierra beta will be provided to the beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program through the Software Update mechanism existing in the Mac App Store. Apple's beta testing website can give access to both OS X and iOS betas. Those users who are interested to become a part of the program can sign up to Apple's beta testing website.

A major update has been introduced by Apple in macOS Sierra. The new operating system brings Siri to the Mac. Siri digital assistant is allowing users to conduct voice searches to look up information, find files and more. The "Auto Unlock" option included in the "New Continuity" features can be used for unlocking a Mac with an Apple Watch. Copy past operations that work across multiple devices are introduced within a feature called Universal Clipboard.

Files stored on the Documents folder or the desktop of a Mac become available on all of a user's devices via the Deeper iCloud integration. The Photos app within the macOS Sierra features new deep learning algorithms for object, facial and scene recognition. The Messages app functionality includes enhanced features such as bigger emoji, rich links and "Tapback" response options. The Apple Pay feature is also been supported within the latest macOS Sierra update.

Apple Insider reports that the new builds of tvOS 10 and watchOS 2 have been also provided to developers just one day before the launch of the third public beta for macOS. Apple did not include the two platforms in its public beta program.

Both macOS Sierra and iOS 10 final version are scheduled for release this fall. Tech analysts expect them most likely in September.
